Site Build It!
Site Build It! (SBI for short) is web hosting, web design, web site templates, creation and website promotion tools all rolled into one terrific software package created by Ken Evoy. You name it, this software does it. And it does it with ease to save you time and headaches.

Advertising
One of the keys to success is advertising. There is no sense having a great site, if no one can find it.
When your site is ready, the first thing you should do is submit your URL to the top search engines.
The second thing is to pay for advertising. One great form of advertising is called "pay per click" -- ppc for short. You only pay for ads which users on the Internet click on. So if your ad is displayed 1,000 times at a search engine, but only 150 people click on it, you will be charged 150 times your predetermined bid amount.
So what is a bid amount you say? Well this is the amount you are prepared to pay to have your ad shown. You will be competing with lots of other advertisers, so the more you pay, the higher up on the list your ad will be. And hence the higher on the page your ad will appear on the search engine.
So how do you begin? First, you join an advertising company (like FindWhat), write an ad with a link to your site, and then bid on keywords. Your ad will be shown for all the keywords you bid on at the search engines which the advertising company has an agreement with. Every pay per click advertising company shows the ads at different search engines.
The key to success with pay per click advertising is to bid on less popular words. This will allow you to bid less money for less common words. Now in order to generate a lot of traffic, you will need to bid on lots of less popular words... but you'll save so much money that it's worth the time think of them.
And remember, with PPC advertising, you want your ad to tell the customer exactly what you are promoting. Since you are paying for each click, you don't want people clicking if they are not interested.
Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture)
Yahoo! Search Marketing, formerly Overture, is the grandfather of all pay per click (PPC) advertising companies. They have been in business a long time and are the number one pay per click company.
Yahoo! Search Marketing puts your web site where customers are looking -- in the search results on leading sites like Yahoo!, MSN, Alta Vista and Lycos. Since your ads are shown on the major search engines, your ads can reach over 80% of active Internet users when you are in the top bid positions.
Yahoo! Search Marketing is highly respected, and brings great converting targeted traffic. But you pay extra for exposure to such popular search engines. The minimum bid in 2003 was $0.10 USD. If you have a product that earns a good conversion rate and commission, then you definitely want to advertise at Yahoo! Search Marketing.

Miva (formerly FindWhat)
Miva, formerly FindWhat, is one of my favorite pay per click advertising companies. It was actually the first one I joined. This is one of the top five pay per click advertising companies.
The people are unbelievably friendly and helpful. I've talked to multiple people from different departments, and I've been happy with the customer service in each department.
Miva will actually help you with your pay per click program, and suggest ideas.
They have an adult policy which says adult sites can only bid on adult oriented keywords, and non-adult sites can only bid on non-adult oriented keywords. So before you start, you may want to talk to their "keyword relevancy" experts, and ask them how it works.
When you join, you will be asked to make an initial deposit, but don't worry. This money is all used towards paying your future click throughs (the amount you pay when a user clicks on your ad). So it is NOT a service charge. The money will stay in your account until you are ready to use it.
Enhance Interactive (formerly ah-ha.com)
Enhance Interactive (formerly Ah-ha.com) is another one of the big pay per click advertising companies and is also in the top five.
They offer two plans. One is a "Do-It-Yourself" plan, and the other is a "We'll Do It For You" plan. The "Do-It-Yourself" plan is free, and the other has a service charge. If you order the "We'll Do It For You" plan, they will create keywords and ads for you.
When you join, you will be asked to make an initial deposit, but don't worry. This money is all used towards paying your future click throughs (the amount you pay when a user clicks on your ad). So it is NOT a service charge. The money will stay in your account until you are ready to use it.

AllPosters.com
You too can make money by selling art!
AllPosters.com is the leader of affiliate artwork programs. And there is a good reason. They sell quality prints and posters, offer great customer service, and treat their affiliates well. The affiliate program is free to join (as all affiliate programs should be, otherwise, be careful).

LinkShare is an affiliate network company which acts as a third party and functions as the middleman between the merchant and you, the affiliate.
It has hundreds of merchant companies which you can join for free. They offer a wide range of affiliate products ranging from wine, to computers, to books, to clothing, to dating, to whatever you can think of.
First you join LinkShare, then you decide which merchants you'd like to join, and then you create the links from LinkShare. LinkShare handles all the reporting. Checks are mailed either by LinkShare or the individual merchant depending on the merchant.

CashRing is a great affiliate program which has been operating since 1996.
CashRing offers a few different affiliate products for you to promote, and they each pay you recurring commissions, which is EXCELLENT!
A recurring commission allows you to earn money not only on the first purchase a customer makes, but on all their renewals as well. Once a customer signs from your website, even if it is as a free membership, they will remain your customer. Therefore, if they decide to purchase, you will earn money each time they renew. For those of you who are unfamiliar with autoresponders, they are systems that allow you to create a series of e-mails, and then send them to your customers or leads at predetermined time intervals of your choosing.
Autoresponders allow you to automate your e-mail campaign. This could be a "Thank you for your interest in our product. We've received your request and will reply as soon as we're able. In the meantime, let me tell you a bit about our product." Or if you have a newsletter, you could use your autoresponder to thank the subscriber for signing up, and send them the first issue of your newsletter. All of this happens automatically.
I used to manage my newsletter subscriptions manually, and I ended up spending A LOT of time sending thank you letters, the first issue, and so on. It was becoming overwhelming.
